This is the first time I have ever been compelled to submit a review for a product. I had high hopes for what looked like a beautiful chest. Unfortunately, it is poorly manufactured junk. When I tried to put this chest together, I discovered the wood was warped, the cam holes were misaligned, and the pieces would not fit flush. The holes drilled for the cam bolts are bored too large so the pieces will not fit and two cam pieces broke during construction. I finally gave up, went to the hardware store and purchased wood screws, wood glue, and angle braces and constructed it with those. Don't buy this product if you expect quality--or, at least, if you don't mind the extra work needed to construct a working chest. This is a poor excuse for a product from a company who claims they deal in 'fine furniture.'

The chest is large enough to hold two full size comforters and a couple of sheet sets with a little room to spare. This is exactly what I was looking for. It's not top of the line cedar but the price is right. I didn't have any trouble putting it together all by myself. Looks great! I would buy another one if I had the space.

When I ordered this chest, I had no idea that it would be this nice. It is all wood with cedar lining, it was not hard to put together, all the pieces were there and it took about 45 minutes. The top is hinged so it doesn't fall on you, it stays open until you are ready for it to be closed. This piece of furniture will be in our family for a long time. I am so glad we ordered it.

Once I unpacked the pieces, I was happy to see the "real wood" look of the product on both the inside and outside of the chest. It was easy to assemble and feels very sturdy. One downside was that the pre-drilled holes that are used for the assembly do not line up perfectly, but this slight fault did not result in a problem with assembly nor the look or sturdiness of the chest. All-in-all I have been very pleased with the product.

I read a bunch of nasty reviews for this product, but I didn't believe them and went ahead and purchased it anyway. My experience has been great, I don't know what they were complaining about. Maybe in 2009 they were making a different version. But I just put mine together no problem. Granted, I don't like cam locks and that sort of thing, but any furniture you buy at any store other than a carpentry store, is going to have cam locks and pegs. My biggest concern is if I'm ever going to play hide and seek and try and hide in it, will the camlocks support my weight on the bottom of the trunk? I don't think it will, probably would need to screw in the bottom panel for that to work. But since I'm just putting blankets in it, I'm not too worried. I did notice the holes for the hinges and the spring joints were slightly off. I think I had to angle one or two screws out of the 6 for the hinges and the 4 for the spring joints, but I didn't need to break out my drill or anything. Everything went together very easy.
Anyway, so it's really pretty. I love the color. I love the detail. I like the little feet. Everything was really easy to put together. I paid about $150 for one from target that was smaller, that I hated, and it broke after only a year. And I paid $190 for this one with free shipping and it's so much nicer. Fits perfect with my style of dark furniture. It's really nice and long. Holds more extra blankets than I have. I think I'm going to free up some room in the linen closet and start keeping change of sheets in it too. :-) This really turned out to be such a great buy, I had good expectations, and it exceeded them. I'm tickled pink with my purchase.
