Before I ordered this armoire, I saw some negative feedback regarding the packaging, but I decided to go ahead and place my order. My armoire arrived today, and the packaging was excellent and the piece was whole and secure. The assembly was very simple, and the piece is in place in my room. This is an excellent product, and my husband and I are both thrilled with it. The drawers are all felt-lined, some with sections and two which are not sectioned off which are great for folders in which I keep some special pieces. The drawers also remove easily to take to my dressing table. Thank you, Amazon, for this product and for your very prompt shipment and delivery.

This item was received damaged. The left door was damaged and arrived detached from the armoire, the magnet housing was broken and there was NO hardware for the mirror assembly. A call to Powell Furniture resulted in a promise to ship a new door, a new magnet housing and the hardware to attach the mirror. As of yet, I have received NOTHING! This item was not CHEAP! This is really lousy customer service! I will NEVER buy another piece of furniture from Amazon, let alone Powell Furniture Company. Now I have to make more phone calls to try get the parts or ship this back!!

If this product had been made well, it would be absolutely gorgeous. However, once I received the item, the faces of several doors and rungs had fallen off during shipping--the glue failed. This revealed the particle board construction underneath. I did expect a strudy construction, but not with particle board! Also, the bottom right joint pulled apart from the bottom during shipping, too. It really makes me wonder if this item arrived in good condition, how long it would have taken for the base to come loose if I had to move it (to clean or even move to another house). Additionally, I consider this an expensive piece. I expected way more out of Powell than what I received.
