My jewelry armoire arrived last night, well packed. I opened it to find the following: Nice color, nicely fitting drawers and side cabinets. There is a small amount of assembly required (legs and mirrored top). My armoire has a small imperfection on one drawer face. It looks as if the wood was split and then repaired with wood putty and re-stained.
The overall construction is good as long as you don't look at the rear and bottom. The rear is basically stained plywood and the bottom frame is glued on, although it seems quite sturdy.
The interior felt is walnut brown, like the brown you see in the open side cabinets above. There is no part of my armoire that has a lighter brown or beige felt covering as pictured in the hideaway insert, above. My hideaway insert (like an encased jewelry box) is chipped on one (inside) edge. I think I can camouflage this acceptably with a furniture pencil.
Overall, it is an attractive piece of acceptable quality. It was packed well and shipped quickly.

I like the design of this armoire, and the price was reasonable so I purchased this as a gift. It looks nice, and the storage is well laid out. I especially liked that the top drawer is actually an additional jewerly box. However, it reeks of mothballs, and the finish isn't the best in places. I'm not completely dissatisfied, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it either. I'm going to rub some cedar oil on it in the hopes of covering the mothballs smell.

Jewelry Armoire was in good condition. Packaging was a little beat up. Biggest disappointment was that all hardware was missing and there was no contact phone number with the packing material. Had to look up Powell's Furniture number on line and when I called... no human voice...had to leave message. Still waiting for call back. Husband went to hardware store and purchased all the hardware. Loved the amoire but not the hassle. Should always be a toll free call number in with packing info. Update: 1/26/12. Powell Furniture never did return my phone call. Still love the amoire. Just wander if anyone else had the same problems?
