This product is fine but AAA Home Furniture Discounts lacks integrity should be avoided at all costs. I have dealt with hundreds of Sellers in the Amazon Marketplace and AAA Home Furniture Discounts is by far the worst. They misrepresented the product and refused to replace damaged parts, then taunted me and said they would win against any claim I might file. They were completely unprofessional and never even sent an order acknowledgment or shipping notice. DO NOT REINFORCE THIS BEHAVIOR!

This desk is simple, solid wood and very easy to put together. The package arrives with the entire top piece already assembled, you merely have to attach the legs, total is 8 screws. I have read the other reviewers comment who gave this desk 1 star. My response to that would be, you paid 175 dollars for a solid wood writing desk that has a simple, but decent finish. As for the chip, that sounds like a problem with your specific desk, and I would suggest contacting the merchant and get it replaced. Mine is fine, I have no issues with the drawer, it again a simple wood on wood pull out (no rollers), the wood is all aligned. Ikea furniture is lower quality than this, otherwise I would have happily bought from IKEA. There are pieces from the Winsome's LISO collection i have had issues with.
I bought the printer stand and ladder book shelf. I also bought a small entertainment console (I started buying this brand of furniture after first acquiring the entertainment console, due to its reasonable quality, being solid wood, high quality hardware and of course, its very low cost). The finish for each is fine, the furniture feels well assembled (though these other pieces you assemble yourself entirely), I have had some alignment issues, mildly with the book shelf, more with the printer, but just enough to annoy, nothing more. The wood is dark, they do not have functional impact on the function of any of these three piece, and they slight alignment problems are not noticeable to the eye, you will not know they are there unless you were the assembler. I give the desk 5 stars, because it's great, the console 4, book shelf 4 and printer 3. Happy buying.

This desk is all solid wood. Assembly is extremely easy per any real solid wood item; the legs and body are full pieces and after eight bolts are in place, the desk is assembled. The finish is a very dark brown, almost black, and perfectly matches espresso finish furniture from manufacturers such as Ashley furniture. I own a bedroom set by Ashley and the desk perfectly matches them, right down to the nickel handle on the keyboard tray (which slides very easily). It's an excellent, attractive, functional desk that will clearly last me many years.
This item is shipped from and sold by Amazon; AAA, whoever they are, no longer are the primary seller.
As with the reviews of the other Winsome Wood desk (in honey), the packing is fairly light and frankly is not sufficient for an item of quality such as this desk. Mine arrived with only one spot of damage: the bottom of the keyboard tray had a sizable nick in it, about the size of a quarter. This was the bottom of the tray, however, and it is invisible as far as anyone is concerned; the quality of the item as a whole merits a 5-star rating.
This item has, according to camelcamelcamel, been sold by Amazon for as low as the honey version has. It's an incredible value even at the current price of $175 as it is solid wood. If you see its price drop at some point, absolutely get it.
The construction is excellent. The finish is beautiful. Assembly is easy. The only downside is shipping, and it's now sold by Amazon. If there's a problem, have them replace it. Their customer service has its own reputation and that is not on topic for this review, but rest assured: you can buy without fear.

For an almost $200 piece of furniture, this was definitely not worth it. The desk came with A LOT of visible flaws (including a huge chip in front edge). The drawers are not designed to be pulled in and out very smoothly and it falls out of alignment every time it comes out so you have to wiggle it/struggle with it when putting it back in. The quality is pretty cheap, furniture from Ikea is better than this. I was utterly disappointed.

The Desk is certainly made of great wood. I was expecting it to be black, as some others were, but the "espresso" finish looks nice. I plan on staining it black to match some other furniture though. I am using it to finish up my undergrad and it's the perfect size for computer work and reading...
I bought the item used. The screws for the drawer handle were missing. The drawer does not open/close smoothly and gets stuck on the railings. Also, there is a chip about 2 inches long on the top left corner of the desk. I think the drawer could be manufactured a little better. It was very easy to assemble though!
Overall, after buying it used, I got what I expected - but you cannot beat the bargain price at $58.
